Gumapac tops Beverage Industry Assn. Cup
BUSINESSMAN Vincent Gumapac carded a two-under par net 70 to win the 2010 Beverage Industry Association Golf Cup held Friday at the tree-lined Apo Golf and Country Club in Davao City.
Gumapac also beat in a count back Bureau of Immigration Region 11’s Etrone Alimar, who settled for first runner-up. Toffee Tionko had a net 71 to wound up second runner-up.
Gumapac also shot the nearest to the pin, while Paul Ramos made the most accurate drive. Sportswriter Lito delos Reyes of the Mindanao Daily Mirror and president of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines (SCOOP) Davao Chapter took the BIAP (Beverage Industry Association of the Phils.) Touring Golfer award.
They all each received a glass trophy awarded by BIAP president JB Baylon of the Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils., who also gave away the fabulous raffle prizes during the awarding.
Macario “Bong” Gonzaga of the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network, emerged as the luckiest among the 46 participants by winning the grand raffle prize – a big flat TV.
The other lucky raffle winners were Jon Develos of Mindanao Times (Mini DVD player), Fritz Tan (digital camera), Bobet Castillo, John Sevillon (USB) and Roy Geonzon of UMBN (cellular phone), Jeffrey Ramirez of Cortes Printers (printer) and delos Reyes (Samsonite bag).
Aside from the members of the media, the event was also joined by coaches and players of the Coca-Cola Tigers / Powerade team from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) composed of Bo Perasol, Kenneth Duremdes, Gerard Francisco, Rodney Santos, Dale Singson and Franciz Allera.
Also present were CCBPI Marketing Manager Ma. Leah Reyes and tournament organizer Lester Pascua.
